New Area -- Cuchilla Ward

Well to start off I had changes! I am now in the ward Cuchilla in the Stake of Aragon.
I am super excited for this ward. All of the members seem super ready and more than willing to share the gospel with those who they know. It is so exciting!

My companion is Elder Velez. From Sanora. He has 8 months in the mission but he is a real go getter. I am really excited to be with him. We get along very well and we are truley working very hard.

W contacted 25 people in the 5 days we have been together, we have found 12 new investigators, and taught 38 lessons! So It is going to be a little tough to keep you guys updated on all that is going on. I think it will just be easier to send pictures and little overviews since we are going to have our hands full with all of this work.

The lord loves us and wants us to be happy. That is why we are here. And its our job to share the happiness with others.
Lets not get lazy.

Love you all a lot!

Happy Birthday Elder Winters

So to start off, TODAY IS MY BIRTHDAY! I have finally hit the outstanding age of 21 years. I know, I should be proud of myself for making it this far. Thank you all for the birthday wishes! It truly means a lot!

We had a baptism this week!! We finally got Ericka baptized. After 3 years of taking the lessons she was finally willing to commit and take on the next step. It was seriously so amazing watching her grow these past 3 months. It was a true privilege to be able to baptize her.

This week some guy threw a bunch of apples at us. He apparently wasn't too happy that two white guys were around his part of town and tried to show off I'm guessing. I REALLY wanted to give him a piece of my hands, but I figured the blessings would be greater than revenge.

I have got a lot of pictures to send you guys this week so don't get too mad, there are quite a few.

Love you all,
Elder Winters

Good-bye sweet 20

So just to inform you guys, 1 WEEK UNTIL MY BIRTHDAY! Pretty exciting stuff right?!
So don't by shy to give me a shout out!

So this week was super awesome. Erika finally came to church and we have her baptismal date all set and ready! She has also finally spoken to her husband about becoming a member and I guess now he is okay with it! I'm excited to see her progress.

Juan Carlos and Karoline didn't show up this week. So I guess I will have to update you all later about what happened with him.

Esteffen, the guy from Austria, went to church again on Sunday and today we ended up taking him to Tepito. It was rather awesome and quite the adventure if I do say so myself. It might be the last time that I will see him before I change areas so hopefully he can keep taking the lessons when he gets back to his own country.

There was a giant party on our street on Friday night and when we left the next morning, we saw someone face down in the street. I'm about 90 percent sure he was dead. We aren't supposed to help people like that because if the cops come we are guilty until proven innocent so its better to just let it be. So that was exciting.

All is going very well. Hope to see a lot of happy birthday wishes from you guys this next coming week! Thanks for everything.

So this week there will be no pictures. Sorry.
I forgot my cable at the house so I cant send any today.

But this week was rather adventurous! I am going to start backwards because I can remember most what happened recently.

On Sunday one investigator showed up and turned out he is from Austria, and he cant speak a lick of Spanish so we got to teach him for 2 hours at church with his friend/girlfriend? that he is here visiting. He started off telling us that he didnt really believe in God, and we left with the promise made that he was going to pray to find out. It was seriously so awesome. Im so excited!

We finally have made great progress with Juan Carlos and his wife Karoline, they have made commitments to be baptized and to follow the Lord no matter what it costs. They have started their paths, im sure itll take some time but they will come around eventually. Im positive.

We had about 20 investigators in total this week. It was a great blessing to see all of them there. We also taught a total of 42 lessons. The word is finally paying off.

Today I did divisiones with the assistants and went to a different zone to have an activity. It was rather fun and I met a lot of new elders.

Just to let you ALL know. My birthday is coming up. On the 21st Ill be turning 21. And from now until next year I will be accepting gifts of all kind. :) haha

I love you all!
